SoulTec February Guest Mix

I got in to Drum N Bass in the early 90′s, having grown up listening to my fathers Led Zeplin and Pink Floyd, the deeper side really appealed to me. I used to listen to a lot of the legendary John Peels show on Radio one for the odd jungle tune he would play. The Amen break being something that really got me. Hearing LTJ Bukem’s Atlantis track back in 93 got me totally hooked. And then hearing his Mix mac mix cd really got me interested in the dj side. the way he would chop in the amen in to other tracks really excited me. I got hold of some decks in about 98 and tried and tried to learn the skill. having only belt drive decks really didn’t help. It wasn’t until about 2000 when I got a pair of technics 1210′s that I really got in to it. I started playing on net radio around that same time on the now long gone battle station radio. That was a fun time where it was all about vibes and having a laugh. it was around the same time that soul:r and hospital records were pushing out some real quality liquid dnb. 2003 was for me a great time for this music. Now we come full circle with a show on www.bassdrive.com and a few labels picking up on my productions. I have a few things out this year. I have an ep out this month on Textures Music. With a lot more releases with them in the coming months. I have a track coming on Jazzsticks. Thats featured in the mix. Smokers Sweet which is a colabe with dRamatic & dbAudio.
